It’s official: the 17th annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood event is upon us. Taking place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, the highly-anticipated day honors and explores the multifaceted strength that defines the essence of Black women.
In other words, Black excellence flooded the red carpet. This year’s theme was Radiant Power, highlighting the influence of Black women in the television and film industry.
Hosted by legendary rapper Method Man, the honorees include:
- Academy Award nominated actress & Grammy Award winner, Danielle Brooks
- Six-time Grammy nominated singer and leading-actress, Halle Bailey
- Acclaimed screenwriter & showrunner of All American, All American: Homecoming and Found, Nkechi Okoro Carroll
- Industry powerhouse & President of Original Programming for STARZ, Kathryn Busby
Sheen Magazine had the pleasure of interviewing the beautiful attendees, including Skai Jackson, Yvonne Orji, Karen Civil, Brandee Evans, Ms. Pat, abs many more.
A-list celebrities also graced the carpet, from Zendaya to Chloe and Halle Bailey – whom walked hand in hand.
