Our current times call for health awareness more frequently than usual. Our frontline workers in the healthcare industry need heartfelt thanks and appreciation daily. May 6-12 is National Nurses Week and we want to highlight an industry gem known as Jhordynn Giselle.
Jhordynn not only assists in healing others through healthcare but she also heals through words. In addition to being a nurse by day, she is also an acclaimed author with several published projects under her belt. Thinking back to when she was a 10 year old girl, Jhordynn recalls her mother being in a bad accident that left her bed-ridden for a while. She said that that moment inspired her to help people advance in their health and well-being. Today she specializes in geriatric psychiatry nursing.
Jhordynn believes that job shadowing and thorough research are necessary for those that are interested in nursing. Although it’s a rewarding career, patient healing may be seen as your only compensation as opposed to the outweighing job stressors. As she heals with words, one might think that nursing led to her writing career. However it did not. Jhordynn reports that she has always been a writer first and nursing is her passionate hustle.
Her healthcare career helps to inspire her inspirational adult fiction writing. She is well versed in healthcare ailments and that also assists in her writing accurate character afflictions in her novels. Her impact also strengthens her local community. She is the host of the annual event known as Pamper the Community which provides free grooming and meal services for those in need. Her writing services are under her business name of Made 4 This, LLC which also provides ghostwriting services, editing and more. She is currently working on her next novel titled, “God Forgave You; I Didn’t”. Connect with Jhordynn on her website, Facebook, and Instagram.
Writer, C. Scott, is a mother of one; author, social worker, early literacy coach and entrepreneur.
