The Bridging Beauty and Wellness Conference, co-created by best friends and Spelman alumna Sha Ravine and D’Shonda Brown, is a safe space to discuss the impact and space that women of color take up in the beauty and wellness industries.
“A space exists where wellness and beauty collide and that is #BBWCON. The beauty and wellness industries have always coincided and it is my mission to curate the necessary conversations that give space to our entire beings as women of color navigating these industries,” founder Sha Ravine says.
The conference will include necessary conversation around topics like self-love and mental wellness during COVID-19, in-depth skincare recommendations for surviving quarantine, black women’s impact on the beauty industry, and more. A special ten minute guided meditation session led by certified yoga instructor Kelley Green is also on the line up!
Of the conference co-creator D’Shonda Brown says, “When Sha brought her vision to me for this conference, I jumped at the opportunity to be her co-creator because the conversations of beauty and mental wellness co-exist more than people realize. I hope to continue to break the stigma of mental health amongst Black women and let them know that wellness exists in everything we do in our daily lives.”
The star-packed panels include the likes of Board Certified Dermatologist – Dr. Elyse Love, Miss USA 2018 – Andromeda Peters, beauty boss – Lauren Napier, and self-love advocate Olanikee Osi. Join us on Sunday, May 24, 2020 from 12-4pm for these incredibly necessary conversations. Tickets can be found here!
