Birmingham, Alabama: During these precedented times, unity is one thing we could all use right now. Daniel Grier co- founder of Magic City Fashion Week ,created this movement to increase collaboration and to celebrate black creatives. Black voices matter and need to be heard during this time.
Magic City Fashion Week Alumni will take it to the streets for the Birmingham Black Designer Street Battle. Fashion designers Kenya B , Derek DeAndre of Love & Osker, Calechie and Daniel Grier of Splashed by DKG, are going live steam in a Versus style fashion battle the city will never forget.
Join us this Saturday to highlight some of the best fashion designers from the south all the while promoting social distancing. The sooner we can combat COVID-19 the sooner we can all be back together.
MCFW is a platform for emerging talent to express themselves through fashion. The goal of Magic City Fashion Week is to provide a platform not only for designers, but beauty industry professionals, photographers , videographers , models and the like; to create social change by reducing stigmas through education , advocacy, and awareness; and to promote diversity and inclusion in the Birmingham fashion community regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation , size, religion, and socio-economic status; bring about social change and promote diversity while educating the community at large.
