This exclusive collection of skincare, body, hair and hand cream products is in partnership with the SONY feature film, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, highlighting music legend Whitney Houston, directed by Kasi Lemmons, written by Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten, produced by legendary music executive Clive Davis and starring BAFTA Award® winner Naomi Ackie.

The Urban Hydration I Wanna Dance with Somebody Film Exclusive Beauty Collection is a clean and plant-based, beauty line that pays homage to Whitney Houston through her favorite scents, powerful ingredients and vibrant packaging. The collection is available exclusively at select JCPenney stores and JCP.com!

For an encore-worthy glow, the Fresh Glam Skincare Set features a Makeup Remover and Toner duo that gently removes impurities without drying the skin. Micelles cling to dirt, oil and makeup, dissolving them while leaving skin hydrated. Hero ingredient, Vitamin A improves the appearance of age spots, wrinkles, and fine lines while slowing signs of aging. The Vitamin E lightens dark spots and hydrates the skin for a more youthful look. The set also includes a Face Wash that detoxes and moisturizes the skin, helping to achieve smooth skin without any harsh ingredients. The Face Lotion is a balancing moisturizer that fights acne and fades dark spots, without a heavy or greasy feel.

Urban Hydration’s Glisten Body Set of the collection is inspired by Whitney Houston’s skin that could be marveled from any stage she graced. Themed with a warm and spicy fragrance, the Vitamin E-infused body set includes a Body Lotion that soothes dehydrated skin, a Body Oil that deeply moisturizes for a healthy glow, and a fragrant Body Spray that helps improve the skin’s overall appearance leaving it soft and supple. Dedicated to curly girls, the collection also includes a Curl Glam Set that celebrates the grandeur, beauty, and uniqueness of the hairstyles that Whitney wore throughout her prominent vocal career. The cleansing and repairing set includes shampoo, curl detangler, deep conditioner, and curl cream.

What makes Urban Hydration different from other brands?

Urban Hydration was created by a new mom and dad who wanted natural, sustainable care that was affordable and worked well for the entire family. The skin care collection focuses on being a clean and affordable preventative care resource for sensitive, damaged, dry eczema-prone skin. In what ways does this collection emulate the film, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody?  

We worked hard to be considerate of fragrances and colors. You’ll find musks and lavender and vanilla and lots of use of the beautiful color purple throughout the collection. We did this to pay homage to the beauty and the grand nature and legacy she left us all with.  The packaging for the Collection is wrapped in the artwork featuring Naomi Ackie, who stars as Whitney Houston in the film.  Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody is exclusively in theaters now.

Whitney Houston truly embodied natural beauty, can you tell us a little bit about the natural ingredients used in Urban Hydration’s products?

With a list of over 100 things we don’t put in our products, we have had the standard of clean beauty before it was popular and hip. Our products are paraben-free, silicone-free, phthalate-free, and silicone free. We strive to use Coconut Oil, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E in just about every product we make.  We want people to feel safe using our products on themselves and their family, friends and children, like we do! Our items are doctor approved, mom-tested and kid-requested. 

What is your favorite item from this collection?

Our favorite item is the hand kit. It has special ingredients that help our hands not get dry as fast as they normally would and they are flavored with some of the most fun fragrances in the entire collection. The purple makeup bag is beautiful too and can be used as a purse too.
