The Nae’Ked Truth is redefining celebrity talk shows, bringing raw, unfiltered conversations to the forefront. Hosted by La’Janeé, an award-winning journalist known for her viral exclusives at The Shade Room and her time as Senior Editor at BET, and Kedrin Herron, a seasoned digital editor for Upscale Magazine and former media professor, this dynamic duo moves beyond sensational headlines. Their goal is to create a space where celebrities can share their stories with depth and authenticity, free from the usual clickbait distractions.

The duo curated the name of the talk show based on a combination of their nicknames, Nae and Ked. The idea also stemmed from the thought of stripping people to the point where they are able to be vulnerable on their show beyond what blogs deem as an interesting headline. “We wanted to get back to the core of journalism,” said Herron.

The show blends entertainment with real journalism, offering thoughtful questions and carefully selected guests. In one of the first episodes, Dr. Heavenly Kimes, dentist, entrepreneur, author, and Bravo star of Married to Medicine, sat down with La’Janeé and Herron to discuss the upcoming season, friendships, and cast dynamics. The conversation went beyond surface-level topics, as Dr. Heavenly opened up about her personal experiences, including her decision to undergo surgery and much more. Throughout the episode, La’Janeé and Herron skillfully guided the discussion, creating a space where their guest felt comfortable enough to share her truth without holding back.

Since most celebrities tend to reveal specific parts of their lives, The Nae’Ked Truth aims to foster honest, raw conversations that go deeper. La’Janeé and Herron have a unique ability to make their guests feel at ease, resulting in moments that are both natural and compelling for viewers. “When it comes to public figures you only get to see them operate in the element that they are operating in. What we are aiming to do is to bring them to us and have authentic conversations,” said Herron. “We want to humanize them beyond what we see in the public eye.”

The show’s mission is not only to entertain but also to inform viewers who may be less familiar with certain guests. “Outside of them being entertained, I just want them to fall in love or be more knowledgeable about said person,” said La’Janeé. “We want to create awareness and we want to let people know that there are a few people out here that still believe in responsible journalism.”

With The Nae’Ked Truth, viewers can look forward to genuine, unfiltered conversations combined with credible journalism, providing an experience that honors and uncovers the depth of each guest.
