On Friday, September 18, 2022, Femme It Forward held its Serenade show at the beautiful YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, California. For a full-blown evening of R&B, the performers consisted of Tone Stith, Arin Ray, Jacquees, and headline Ty Dolla $ign.
With Tone Stith kicking things off on a high note, the multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer unleashed his unforgettable falsetto, setting the stage for the rest of the performers to follow. Next was Arin Ray and his soulful vibes captivated the audience. Not long after, the self-proclaimed King of R&B, Jacquees graced the stage. The singer-songwriter ran through all of his hits and even had some dope choreography in his back pocket.
When DVSN came on, they brought that classic R&B feel to the room. Daniel Daley’s vocal range is beyond impressive, and the intimacy of the venue made for the perfect environment to display his talents.
To close out the night, Ty Dolla Sign hit the stage and absolutely shut it down. Although Ty$ is on par with some of the greatest vocalists, his bread and butter is his ability to make hits. His set almost felt like a DJ’s set at a club. To top it off, you know it’s a movie when it’s Los Angeles. Ty brought out a slew of artists, including Joe Moses, Kalan.FrFr, Leon Thomas, OT Genasis, YG, and even the legendary Diddy.
But the most emotional part of the show arrived when Ty$ paid tribute to all the late rappers who passed away unexpectedly, including PnB Rock, Nipsey Hussle, Lil Keed, Mac Miller, Slim 400, and more.
