Having suffered from Venous Insufficiency and extremely dry skin most of her life, the owner, Fran was introduced to natural Shea Butter and its benefits in 2005. In 2009, Fran’s family encouraged her to sell her soaps and moisturizers to everyone.
Tell us who Fran?
Fran: Outside of my bio, I am a caregiver at heart, a sister, Mother, Grandmother, and a Wife who cares about the well-being of my family, friends, and others. I love to travel and discover new treasures across the globe. I love to change lives with my gift and passion for organic superfoods incorporated into body care. It has changed my life for the better and I am determined to let the world know they can experience the same solutions through skincare.
What unique challenges do female entrepreneurs face?
Fran: Most female entrepreneurs face similar difficulties within small business-like raising funds for working capital and/or research & development. As a result of Covid and the continued effects it has had on the market, many women are now challenged with maintaining a strong workforce in today’s market. Challenges from local competitors and big box stores plague CPG companies which are faced with developing marketing strategies to compete on a broader scale and capture significant market share. Because many women are also caregiver and providers, balancing work-life demands continue to present unique challenges for working women.
What is most rewarding about running a body care brand?
Fran: One of the most rewarding things about running a body care business is the lives that you change. In body care, you discover yourself in thousands of faceless customers. They share their skin challenges and goals for better skin. Providing them with solutions with products you have created is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had.
Why should women invest more in self-care?
Fran: Women should lead the way with self-care because we are teachers at heart with a love for meditation and devotion to all things that make us feel whole and complete. As such, most of the people we care for look to us for the many lessons learned personally and /or from raising our families and sharing experiences with friends. Women share, they talk, they gossip, they seek, and they find! Women become a Source for Solutions. Having experience in self-care becomes one of those lessons that we pass on and pass down from one generation to the next with improvements along the way. We establish a regimen that can be trusted to produce results for maintenance, correction and well-being.
What would you like our readers to gain from this interview?
Fran: I would love readers to know that as a woman that wears many hats, I too have learned many lessons of family, commitment, and self-care. Because I am someone who suffers from severe sensitive skin, I have spent a significant part of my life researching solutions for self-care and self-love and discovering those solutions has been my greatest blessing from GOD. We are made to be creators as children of GOD, but as women we are tasked with helping other. This role affords me the opportunity to give back to those on the same path of self-care and self-love. I’m happy to lead the way to discovery for all those seeking beautiful, healthy skin.
