Trap City, a newly revamped indie film from Kyyba Films, has secured a theatrical release in partnership with Anchored Lens Productions, announces theatrical release date and a new exclusive trailer! Adding star power to this gritty, urban inner city drama, is rapper-turned-actor, Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins in a powerful lead role as ‘Reverend Lylee,’ a role that unites both music and film audiences together with his captivating portrayal of a complex and morally ambiguous character. Trap City takes viewers on an intense journey through fame, power, resilience, and finally… redemption. The film delves deep into the complex world of the music industry, starring the always electrifying Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder) as ‘Deshawn,’ a young artist struggling to escape a life marked by violence and limitations. Deshawn’s journey marred by tough moral choices, is a powerful portrayal of the sacrifices he must make to rise above his circumstances. Rounding out this amazing cast is veteran actor Clifton Powell (Ray), Erica Pinkett (All Eyez on Me), Omar Gooding (Baby Boy), and international stars Yogi Babu, GV Prakash Kumar, Nepoleon Duraisamy, and Tarina Patel. The film is directed, produced and written by Tel K. Ganesan and executive produced by Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins, Ashwin T. Ganesan, G.B. Theos, Nasik Rav (Yisrael) and David E. Taylor. This highly anticipated film will open in over a hundred+ select theaters across the United States on December 13, 2024 followed by a VOD release.
