Tink deserves all her blessings!

On Wednesday, July 31st, the R&B songstress opened up the second leg of Jhene Aiko’s The Magic Hour tour, which kicked off night 1 at crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles.

The Chicago native rocked the stage like never before, rocking an all red fit with matching dancers behind her as she slayed her choreography. If you you’re a day one Tink fan, you’re probably been following her since her first Winter’s Diary, released 12 years ago when she was still in high school.

Fast forward to 2024, she just released her fifth installment called Winter’s Diary 5, arguably her best project to date. Fueled by love and heartbreak, Tink creates music from the soul, and her lyrics are inspired by real-life experiences we can all relate to. Standout features include Summer Walker, Jeremih, NoCap, and Skilla Baby.

Sheen caught up with Tink after her killer performance on stage, discussing her relationship with Jhene Aiko and new music.

You killed it out there! Everyone was blown away, what a beautiful set. How was that moment for you?

Thank you so much. LA, the energy? LA came with it. I’m just feeding off the response from the crowd. It was beautiful. I felt like I was getting off my thoughts in. We were having fun on stage.

Were you nervous?

A little, I’ll be honest., I’m always nervous, until I get there. Then it goes away.

What’s that rehearsal like?

Oh my god, it was long. Let’s start there. We rehearsed for long hours, but it pays off.

Talk about your relationship with Jhene Aiko.

I love me some Jhene! First of all, I’ve been stanning Jhene since I was a kid.  We met last year. She had a show, I opened up for her. Her manager came back and mentioned the tour. I was just praying it would fall through. And in March, we got the call. I’m getting chills, I got chills when I got the call. Jhene, she’s such a sweetheart. I got to meet her. She was so warm, and even mentioned a collab.

Let’s go!

Yeah that made my day. I’ve been waiting on a moment with Jhene, so this tour means a lot to me.

You just dropped Winter’s Diary 5. How are you feeling?

Heyyy! I’m so happy. Winter’s Diary is my baby. I’ve been making them since 2012.

You were in high school right? That’s wild.

Since high school, yes. This is my first project ever. To have an album called Winter’s Diary, the fifth edition, I know my fans really appreciate it. It’s a full circle moment. It’s for Chicago. It’s for the girls. It’s a diary, so it’s personal. I got to vent, I’m so happy it’s out.
