Lizzo opened the show and looked flawless in gold.

If there’s one thing Lizzo will do, it is bring out her flute and show everyone why she’s in a lane of her own. The “About Damn Time’ singer stunned in gold as she started the party, setting the fun tone for the moments and performances to follow.

Jack Harlow brought out Brandy, aka the Vocal Bible.

This moment was epic and indeed a smart move by Harlow and his team. It was completely unexpected as social media thought there was beef between the two after Jack Harlow stated during an interview that he didn’t know Brandy and Ray J were siblings. Brandy responded with her version of Harlow’s hit single, “First Class.” Brandy got a chance to perform her verse and shut the stage down, per usual.

Latto won her first award for ‘Best New Artist’ and brought out Queen Mimi.

If Latto’s acceptance speech didn’t make you cry, you must watch it again. Social media felt every word as they were just as excited about her first win as she was. The “Big Energy” singer also brought out the most prominent icon, Mariah Carey, to perform their remix. Carey wore a ball gown, as she should, and blessed the nation with her high-class vocals.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The original bad boy got showered in so much love last night as friends, colleagues, and more came out to show their appreciation. The billionaire boss thanked everyone in his life who held him down and pledged to give away money to Howard University.

Ye made an appearance to honor Diddy and mentioned his wife, Kim Kardashian.

No one expected this to happen, but that’s the benefit of watching culture’s biggest night. Ye came out to talk about how Diddy inspired his craft, how he’s his favorite artist, and how he also inspired Kim Kardashian.

Chlöe, once again, showed why she’s THAT GIRL.
