This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending the food drive in Smyrna, 1st Annual hosted by Restoring the Years Global Ministries (RTY Global)

We all know that these times especially, are tough for many families and individuals, and if it weren’t for local community members and organizations that come to this aid, lots more people would be facing truly desperate measures.

It’s important for us to tell these kinds of stories because it’s easy to get caught up in our daily lives and think/act within our personal realities. It’s important for people to be attentive to the community’s needs as a whole and figure out where to dedicate our time and effort towards being a solution. — RTY Global is getting the job done and welcoming help!

On Saturday, even in the rain, their team and community came out to collect and gift food and groceries directly to families and people in need. There’s no better resource than the access to a safe place, necessary goods and no ask in return. RTY Global is working to spread the word about their legitimate mission and authentic commitment to be a pillar for the community.

We spoke to their Pastor and here’s what he had to say:

“The purpose behind what we’re doing today, is to simply serve and give back. At a time like this there’s a lot going on, a lot of confusion, a lot of ups and downs. I think more people need to see the positivity; that it still exists and is still present. — I know there’s going to be a lot of evil in the world but you’ve gotta do your best to balance that scale out.”

We also learned that RTY Global has mentorship programs as well as extra-curricular clubs and programs such as music education for various instruments.

The joy to see their support systems come together and present such a thoroughly fulfilling act of outreach is food in and of itself, to the soul. — It’s no secret that what we see and consume on a daily basis can take a toll on our mental and physical, therefore, it’s important to be connected to platforms that give and are present as positive resources.
