“Coming from where I came from and surviving what I came through, I can’t look in the mirror and say I did it. It’s impossible,” said Scott. “God had to have his hand on my life.” From humble beginnings to writing for some of the biggest names in music, Ivory Scott has carved out a space for himself in the industry. He went from growing up in poverty to sleepless nights in his car, all in pursuit of his music career.

His undeniable talent for songwriting caught the industry’s attention, landing him his first publishing deal. Since then, he has penned songs across multiple genres for stars including Beyoncé, Madonna, Yung Bleu, Ed Sheeran, and Trippie Redd. Growing up in Chicago, Scott was inspired by artists like Kanye West and Common, drawn to lyricists who had something meaningful to say. His goal has always been to stay authentic, a commitment reflected in the vulnerability of his music.

“The beginning of my career was really based on me being a successful songwriter, writing for some of the biggest artists in the world,” said Scott. “I saw artists writing records that weren’t just a vibe, but something that could get you through something too.”

Now stepping into the spotlight as an artist, Scott has released his debut album, MUD (Music U Desire), marking a significant milestone in his journey. His track “The One” is currently one of the most popular songs on Apple Music, while “99 Times” stands out as a testament to resilience and perseverance. Other fan favorites include “Family Hero,” “What You Like,” “Control It” featuring Tink, and “MUD Trauma.”

“From the beginning, the intro to the record is ‘Ten Thousand Hours.’ Anything you want in life—if you want to be successful—you have to put 10,000 hours in,” said Scott. “That’s my testimony, but it’s also a testament to what you have to do to get where you want to be.”

Scott’s personal journey is deeply intertwined with his music. He reflected on the loss of his older sister, who played a pivotal role in his upbringing and remained his biggest supporter.

“Losing her made me realize that I couldn’t live my full purpose through other artists,” said Scott. “Even though I’ve written for so many artists, I needed a creative platform where my voice could be heard and my story could be told.”

With visuals dropping soon for “The One,” an upcoming tour with Fridayy, and his continued focus in his “writing bag,” Scott is proving he’s not just a hitmaker—he’s an artist to watch.

His music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major streaming platforms. His debut album, MUD (Music U Desire), features “The One,” “99 Times,” and more tracks that showcase his unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and storytelling.
