The grind is not always easy and for female business owners, it’s a word that means everything. Waking up early and going to bed late is the lifestyle of the grind and some days you just hope to catch more than 4 hours of sleep, however, the rewards are huge and worth every bit. On Sunday, April 18, 2020, the owner of Grind Pretty gathered a prominent group of women who are leading in their various fields together to celebrate, honor, and award them during the conclusion of the first annual Pretty Grind Fest. Owner Mimi J is an influential Celebrity Makeup Artist who has worked with several celebs including Angela Simmons and Kenya Moore, she says, “I created Grind Pretty to help women who are business owners by providing them with resources and connections to grow. The purpose of Grind Pretty Fest is to bring that help to the forefront and engage with other owners. We were able to invest in other businesses by giving out grants. We plan to this yearly and open up more doors.”
The honoring included Jesseca Dupart (Owner of Kaleidoscope Hair Products), Pretty Vee (Comedian and Actress), Monique Rodriguez (Owner of Mielle Organics), Lia Dias (Owner of Girl Cave La Beauty and cast member of Married to Medicine LA), Melissa Mitchell (Artist), and Dr. Key Hallmon (Owner of The Village Market Atl).
