It’s quite embarrassing when I talk about my hair journey with others. Why? Mainly because I have to explain how much heat I’ve put on it over the years, how much dye has gone on it, and how sometimes, I’m just too lazy to spray a heat protectant. It’s as if I was doing everything wrong but it didn’t phase me. I remember sitting in the salon chair after not having my hair cut for about a year, and listening to my stylist point out why my hair was at it’s worth state.

Fried ends, frizzy, and just downright thirsty for some moisture. My hair has been through it over the years and I am so glad I finally took notice. It’s all about giving your hair that TLC it needs without it getting as far as I let it. Learn from my mistakes beauts because the struggle was real. One thing that really helped my hair in the recovery process was a good hair mask.

Just like a face mask, a few minutes on the hair and it’s like brand new hair. Though you should be treating your hair to a mask at least once a week, the more you apply a mask, you’ll begin seeing results. Just trust me on this one, for someone who’s hair has been through the woodworks! Here are my top five hair masks of all time and why I love them!

Saints & Sinners Velvet Divine Hair Masque, $30

First off, can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful this packaging is? I’m a sucker for good packaging. Besides that, this deep conditioning masque is literally heaven in a container. It not only controls the frizz of my hair but it noticably helped my hair get out of it’s dry state. I love that it is 100% vegan and free of those icky ingredients we all kow and hate. My hair is so shiny and manageable after I use this masque, every time, never fails!

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask, $36

If you’re a loyal reader then you know we’ve raved about this product for months and will continue to do it! It contains rosehip, sweet almond, and argan oils to not only revitalize dry hair but also protect it from any future damage you may plan on doing to it (accidently, of course). It’s great for those who have dry hair, damaged hair, or chemically treated hair.

All it takes is five minutes of this mask on your hair for complete magic. I kid you not, my hair is so thick but this product (enriched with argan oil) is so rich and creamy, it’s a true dream. I love how shiny my hair is after using it.
