Watch Afrobeats Biggest Acts Perform Live on Sunday, April 27th in an evening full of electrifying performances and special moments live from The Landmark Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria

The 17th Annual Headies Awards, an unparalleled platform known for acknowledging the boundless talents of the African continent, will be livestreamed on YouTube (U.S.) and Hip TV (Nigeria) on Sunday, April 27th, 2024. Returning “Back To Base” after expanding its brand globally and showcasing Afrobeats and African music to the world, The Headies is slated for one of its best shows to date. 

Current Headies nominees Davido, Shallipopi, Yemi Alade, Juna Jux, Flavour, Qing Madi, Blaqbones, and Nasboi will perform at the 17th Annual Headies Awards alongside Cubana Chief Priest, Chike, Shallipopi, Blaqbones, Niniola, Magnito, Qing Madi, Q-Dance, Brown Joel, Boy Pee, Hyce, and The Ogechi Boys.

As one of the biggest Afrobeats artists in the world with over 2 billion streams, 17th Headies performer Davido garnered 5 nods for Digital Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration (Twe Twe Remix” ft. Kizz Daniel), Artiste of the Year , Headies Viewers Choice (“Ogechi Remix” ft. Hyce, Boy Pee, and Brown Joel), and Afrobeat Single Of The Year (“Ogechi Remix” ft. Hyce, Boy Pee, and Brown Joel). 

Nigerian songwriter-singer Qing Madi will also take the stage to perform live. With 4 nods for Songwriter of the Year (“Vision”) ft. Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, Best R&B Single (“Vision”), Best Collaboration (“Ole”) ft. BNXN, and Next Rated Quing will serve fans her unique genre-blending fusion of afrobeats, pop, soul, and R&B. 

With 3 nods, performer Blaqbones is up for 3 Headies nominations for Lyricist on the Roll (“Chocolate City Cypher”) and Music Video of the Year (“Like Ice Spice”) while Headies performer Flavour is up for 3 Headies nominations for Song of the Year (“Big Baller”), Artiste of the Year and Best Performer [Live] for (“Celebrating You 2023”). 

Performer Yemi Alade is up for 1 Headie nomination for Best Vocal Performance (“Tomorrow”). Juma Jux is up for 1 Headie nomination for Best East African Artiste of the Year (“Tanzania”) and Nasboi is up for 1 Headie nomination for Next Rated.

This Year’s Headies recognizes Youssou N’Dour as the 17th Annual Headies Awards Hall Of Fame honoree. The singer-songwriter and former Minister of Tourism of Senegal and is known for his extraordinary vocal range and for introducing international audiences to mbalax.

All performers are contending for the prestigious, highly coveted, and gold-plated Headie Award which is regarded globally as one of the highest honors and most treasured possessions an artist can receive on the continent of Africa and abroad.
