Tell us about your business.
I am the CEO of SnowGlam Collection, which is an All-Things Beauty company, we sell everything from hair, hot tools, & lashes to clothing & accessories. We also offer business resources for current & aspiring entrepreneurs, this consists of ebooks, vendors list, wholesale products, web design & development, business flyer design, logo design, & more! I started my business in 2019 at the age of 14, I was inspired to start my business by my loving mother Keisha Newman. I always knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur; I’d been talking about it since the first grade.
Growing up watching my mom be a self-made entrepreneur played a big part in who I am today. She’s my #1 supporter & she’s always believed in me. So, at the age of 14 I decided that it was time to follow in her footsteps & start my own business. I did almost everything by myself, I did a lot of research to find my own vendors, I created my logo, I figured out how to use Shopify & put my website together, I created my own flyers to market with on social media, & I was so excited to launch! But once I did, it wasn’t what I expected, business was a little slow.
I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong, but in 2020 I realized that I needed to stop marketing to my friends & family. Those are not my customers, they’re not my target audience. I realized that I needed to find a way to reach more people. So, in September of 2020 I paid TheShadeRoom for an Instagram promo ad. I honestly wasn’t even expecting it to go as well as it did, but it gave me the confidence I needed to keep going.
As a successful teen entrepreneur, what challenges have you faced?
The main challenge that I face as a teen entrepreneur is just finding time to sleep. Packaging hundreds of orders a day, doing schoolwork, & promoting for brands isn’t as easy as it may look so right now, I’m trying to create a better schedule for myself. That may include hiring a team to package orders for me.
How did you connect with Ari Fletcher to promote your business?
So less than a year later in June of 2021, I decided to pay Ari Fletcher for an Instagram Story promo. I reached out to her through email, got an understanding of how the process works, and after that I paid & shipped her my best selling, “Luxury Diamond Flat Iron”
The post was scheduled to be made in August due to her being in such high demand which was totally fine with me because it was worth the wait. As soon as I got the notification on my phone that the post had been made, my site immediately started blowing up with orders. I was in complete shock; I was literally in the grocery store as it was happening, and I screamed lol. Everyone was just staring at me, but I didn’t even care I was so excited. Off just one-story post of her using my Luxury Diamond Flat Iron I made 65k in a day! After I announced this everyone went crazy people were talking about it on Twitter, Facebook, it was amazing. After the first 30 days I made over 129k off just one-story post, I never knew someone could have this much influence over people. Ari Fletcher changed my life. As of today, my business is now worth over $500,000 & half of that came from my collab with Ari Fletcher.
