It was recently announced that Stacey Abrams is running for governor of Georgia in 2022.
Back in 2018, Abrams lost to Brian Kemp by about 55,000 votes. In her run, she became the first Black woman in the country to be a nominee for governor after she won the Democratic primary.
Abrams took it to Twitter to share the exciting news.
I’m running for Governor because opportunity in our state shouldn’t be determined by zip code, background or access to power. #gapol
