On Thursday, June 28, Grammy-nominated superstar Spice, the Queen of Dancehall, hosted her highly anticipated single release party in Atlanta, joined by several of her castmates from “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.” While the song of the night was her latest track “Round Round,” featuring hip hop legend Busta Rhymes, Spice also took the opportunity to highlight her previously released single “2085 Tea.” The evening featured a country theme to match her newest song, with attendees wearing cowboy hats and boots.

The event kicked off rodeo-style with a dramatic entrance from Spice as she rode in on a brown horse, setting the tone for the evening. Known as the most creative artist from Jamaica, Spice’s extensive music catalog reflects her versatility and willingness to push boundaries. In “Round Round,” she steps out of her comfort zone, seamlessly blending her Dancehall roots with country-style music.

“I am not afraid to try new things, so when I heard the rhythm, it was giving me a country feel,” Spice said. “I spit raw Dancehall on the beat and blended it with Hip Hop and Country. It has never been done before; it’s a new sound.”

As an independent artist, Spice emphasized the hard work and dedication it took to reach her current status. She shares her personal stories and experiences in her song “2085 Tea,” aiming to convey the challenges and triumphs she has faced throughout her career in the music industry and in her personal life.

“My album is called ‘MIRROR 25’ because I am celebrating 25 years in the business. “I have been reflecting on everything that I have been through, and that is what gave me the idea for ‘Mirror,’” said Spice. “When you look in the mirror, you start to do a lot of self-reflecting. I am in an era where I try to look at all of the things that I have managed to overcome.”

Spice’s creative vision is also evident in her music video for “2085 Tea.” She envisioned herself in the future, portraying an older woman while using an older voice on the track. This innovative approach is what sets Spice apart, highlights her ability to bring unique concepts to life, and leaves her fans wondering what else she has up her sleeve.

As the evening progressed, the atmosphere was filled with excitement. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and a bull-riding machine. As the country saying goes, they danced the night away until the ‘cows came home.’ It was clear that the night was not just a celebration of new music but also a testament to Spice’s journey and the impact she has had on the music industry.

Spice’s singles “Round Round” and “2085 Tea” are now available on all major streaming platforms, showcasing her continued evolution as an artist and her dedication to blending diverse musical styles.
