Some of the hardest conversations that we must have begin with our peers. Allen Obi, creator and founder of We Need to Talk started with the desire to create conversations that to some may be uncomfortable but very necessary. Obi’s brainchild originated on the campus of Lander University in 2013 with the initial goal to mend the divide between races, sexes, and different subgroups of people.
It then flourished across other campuses until it transformed into a concept that included the conversations between Black women and men to begin some of the most important dialogues needed in today’s society.
Allen and I dove into those topics – such as do women just want a “ring” just for validation. It gets juicy!
