Congratulations are in order!

This just in that Ruth E. Carter will become the first Black costume designer to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Back in 2019, Carter was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Costume Design.

With over 30 years in the industry under her belt, she has worked on notable projects such as Malcolm X, Coming To America, Selma, and many more.

More recently, she was nominated for a Golden Globe once more for Best Costume Design in the film Coming To America 2.

With the ongoing pandemic, the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies were postponed.

She will receive her star virtually this week on February 25th at 11:30 AM.
