As an artist, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of fame and success.
But sometimes, the most profound moments come when you step back and reflect on your journey.
My new ventures reflect the evolution of my path—from being a beloved member of Xscape to stepping into my own as an entrepreneur, innovator, and creative force.
While music will always be the core of who I am, I’ve realized there is so much more I can do and share with the world.
This journey is about growth, purpose, and stepping into uncharted territory with passion and determination.
Taking over two years to focus on myself was a transformative decision—one that allowed me to realign my priorities and step forward stronger than ever.
During my two-year hiatus from the public eye, I found myself asking, “What are you made of?”
That question became a driving force in my journey and ultimately led to the creation of the Made Girl brand.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month in March, I am reminded of the strength and resilience of women throughout history who have paved the way for us to step into our power.
Made Girl is more than a slogan—it’s a movement, a mindset, and a testament to empowerment and perseverance.
This philosophy naturally gave birth to the Made Girl Foundation and Made Girl Music division, both of which embody the strength and determination that have shaped my career.
Creating my own imprint, Made Girl, was about more than just having my name on a label—it was about empowerment.
The music industry can be tough, especially for women, and I wanted to build a space where female artists can thrive, express their truth, and push boundaries without compromise.
Made Girl is about freedom—freedom of expression, freedom to grow, and freedom to lead.
It’s a platform where rising talent can gain the tools and guidance to succeed while fostering a community of support.
It’s about women owning their narratives, telling their stories, and making music that reflects their unique experiences.
Beyond music, I’ve made it my mission to empower young women through the Made Girl Foundation.
This nonprofit initiative provides mentorship, scholarships, and opportunities for young women to succeed—whether through education, entrepreneurship, or creative expression.
I believe in breaking barriers and helping young women develop a sense of self-worth and purpose.
The foundation is not just a cause; it’s a calling. I want these young women to see their dreams as achievable goals, not distant hopes.
I’ve never been afraid to take on new challenges.
Whether it was embarking on a solo career, diving into entrepreneurship, or stepping into film and television, I’ve always believed that growth happens outside of our comfort zones.
Yes, I’m still the woman who brought you timeless hits with Xscape, but my music has evolved, just as I have.
Beyond music, I’m embracing new ventures in television and film, stepping into acting, producing, and storytelling in ways that go beyond the stage.
These projects allow me to connect with audiences in fresh and exciting ways, extending my creativity into new realms.
Over the past two and a half years, I stepped away from the limelight to prioritize my personal growth, mental health, and family life.
This time of self-reflection and healing was necessary—it allowed me to realign, focus on my well-being, and strengthen the things that matter most.
As many know, I’ve been vegan for over 17 years, but during this period, I deepened my understanding of health and wellness.
I’ve been working on the second volume of my cookbook, diving into plant-based recipes and expanding my knowledge of holistic nutrition.
Wellness is a lifelong journey—not just about eating well but nurturing the mind, body, and spirit.
I’m excited to share these insights with my fans through my upcoming wellness initiatives, including my cookbook and other plant-based resources.
With Made Girl Productions, I’m bringing my artistic vision to the forefront—creating projects that break new ground in entertainment and lifestyle.
This platform allows me to inspire others, tell meaningful stories, and craft impactful content that aligns with my evolution as an artist and entrepreneur.
Through film and television, I’m dedicated to building narratives that uplift and empower, merging creativity with purpose and innovation.
The future is filled with possibilities, and I’m only getting started.
As I continue working on my music, wellness initiatives, and business ventures, my focus remains on creating spaces where I can fully express myself and connect with others in meaningful ways.
This journey is not just about what I do—it’s about who I am.
Through music, wellness, film, and entrepreneurship, I am committed to making an impact and pushing boundaries.
I am deeply grateful for my fans and the unwavering support I’ve received throughout my career.
From my music to my business ventures, this is just the beginning.
There are so many exciting adventures ahead, and I can’t wait to share them with you all.
With love and gratitude,
LaTocha
