Fred Reed, the soulful R&B singer and songwriter, is gearing up to drop his highly anticipated new single, “Teach Me,” on April 18th, 2025.
Operating under his independent record label, Fred Reed Music, Fred has built a successful career that continues to make waves in the music industry.
With his distinctive sound and powerful storytelling, Fred remains a key figure in the R&B scene.
His previous single, “Found You” featuring Raheem DeVaughn, charted in the top 25 on the Billboard charts, further cementing his place among today’s top R&B artists.
“Teach Me” is a smooth, emotionally rich exploration of love, communication, and the vulnerability it takes to make a relationship last.
Fred has captivated audiences for years with his unique sound, blending soulful vocals and powerful storytelling.
His musical journey began in the church, where he found his love for music before making a name for himself in the 90s by opening for legendary artists like 112, Mary J. Blige, Run DMC, and Gerald LeVert.
He also had the opportunity to produce alongside renowned producer Scott Storch.
“As a kid, music was always something that I loved. I grew up in the projects in Riverside, Delaware, and people were selling drugs, but music just captivated me. I grew a love for it,” Fred shares.
Fred’s musical journey helped him develop his signature sound, and over time, he has embraced the uniqueness of his style, which fans find refreshing.
“When people hear me, they never compare me to anyone else, which I thought was a bad thing, but I’ve come to learn that it’s a good thing that makes me unique,” he adds.
Fred’s solo career flourished with chart-topping hits like “Found You” featuring Raheem DeVaughn, “I Want You Back,” and “Tug of War,” tracks that allowed Fred to connect with audiences on a deeper level and establish himself as a mainstay in the R&B scene.
Despite his success, Fred has remained grounded and connected to his roots.
He founded Reeds Refuge Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the academic achievement of children and supporting financially struggling families in Wilmington, Delaware.
The center also serves as a refuge from gun violence and drug abuse in the community.
“I walk with youth all the time, and the one thing I always tell them is to be original. They already have a Meek Mill and a Beyonce, but you got to do what makes you unique,” Fred says.
Fred Reed’s new single, “Teach Me”, showcases his signature soulful vocals, timeless R&B melodies, and emotional depth. The song reflects on the complexities of relationships and the importance of growth and understanding in love.
“This song came from a real place,” says Fred Reed. “We all go through ups and downs in relationships, but what really matters is being open to learning how to love better. ‘Teach Me’ is my way of saying—I’m listening, I care, and I want to get it right. I think a lot of people will connect with that honesty.”
The track is a grown, soulful anthem for anyone navigating the challenges of love, and it demonstrates Fred Reed’s unique ability to blend classic R&B influences with modern emotional depth.
“Teach Me” will be available on all major streaming platforms via Fred Reed Music on April 18th, 2025.
