The last few years have seen a significant shift in power dynamics in the music industry as indie rappers have quickly risen to the top of the game. With their extraordinary artistry, compelling stories, and unapologetic attitudes, these rap stars are leaving an indelible mark on the industry and captivating audiences around the world.
Central Georgia continues to establish itself among one of the top hotbeds in hip-hop, and TMF Precha plans to expand his name and brand, Now Entertainment, established in 2011, along with it. His latest single, “Man Up,” featuring DJ Tlk2em and the legendary artist X-Raided from Tech Nine’s Strange music label, reflects three young boys growing up to become stronger and wiser men.
The piece combines the three artists’ strong suits on the alt pop-sounding instrumentation produced by Ukrainian producer Petrofsky, allowing them to put their talents to work. The collaboration between Raided, owner of Bloc Star Evolution, and Precha founder of Now Entertainment, a boutique label, adds new intensity to the song as they blend each other’s energy to deliver a dynamic performance showcasing their lyrical prowess while speaking to youth about stress and hardships to avoid.
All three rappers have faced their fair share of run-ins with the law. Precha, 39, Wilkinson County Georgia native and cousin of retired former major league baseball player Kevin Brown, faced six years as a teenager at the age of fifteen for an alleged aggravated assault charge but later served six months and a year of probation while 49 year old Sacramento California native X-Raided, who also maintains his innocence from a gang related murder charge, served twenty six years. The recent collaboration provides a look into their resilience and perseverance to triumph through poverty and adversity while maintaining integrity and being mindful of the youth looking to them for hope and inspiration.
The song title “Man up” is exactly what the three men had to do to make it where they are today in life and thus is a fitting title for the release.
Not only has Precha released a string of new singles, but he also just unveiled his latest compilation album with guest appearances from Chino XL & Odd Squad Family. The project features tracks that reflect Precha’s growth as an artist with over a year of work that attests to his acclaim.
Man Up is now available for streaming on all platforms.
