On Friday night, fashion designer and polo enthusiast Miguel Wilson hosted his 7th annual Fashion and Polo Classic, sponsored by Bentley, bringing a celebration of Black excellence to the forefront. The weekend-long event kicked off with The Black Tie Celebrity Fight Night, offering attendees an exciting evening of exhibition boxing matches. Each boxer made their entrance to their own theme songs, setting the stage for a lively and memorable night. Special performances, including one by singer Kevin Ross, added to the energy of the event.

The Fashion and Polo Classic isn’t just about entertainment; it also serves a meaningful purpose. All proceeds from the event go to the Ride To The Olympics Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Wilson. Ride To The Olympics Foundation is dedicated to creating opportunities for inner-city youth in equestrian sports, a cause close to Wilson’s heart. By supporting the foundation, attendees helped provide young people of color access to sports that often lack diversity.

In addition to the boxing matches, celebrity guests made appearances throughout the evening, and many attendees proudly wore pieces from Miguel Wilson’s fashion collection, further showcasing his influence in both the fashion and sports worlds. The event brought together people from all walks of life, united in their support for a mission of inclusivity and excellence.

Raquel Riley Thomas, 2011 Miss America runner-up, was among the notable guests and shared her thoughts on the importance of events like the Fashion and Polo Classic. “I think this is a wonderful opportunity for the world to see that there is diversity in polo,” Thomas said. “Miguel and Chancey Wilson are both doing a great job with Ride To The Olympics. I am excited for what these young junior polo classic riders will be doing here this Sunday, and we look forward to seeing it.”

Now in its seventh year, the event continues to grow exponentially in both attendance and impact. Wilson expected over 2,500 supporters this year, reflecting the event’s rising popularity. For him, the Fashion and Polo Classic is not just a showcase of fashion and polo, but a platform to inspire positive change and create lasting opportunities for future generations.

The night was a success, with first-time attendees and longtime supporters enjoying the unique combination of sports, fashion, and philanthropy that has become a hallmark of the Fashion and Polo Classic.
