Tell us about your journey of healing. What helped and motivated you during that time that you like to share with our readers to motivate them through their challenging times?
I learned more about the history of our overlooked disease. I learned about trigger foods and special dietary needs that help people living with sickle cell stay healthy. Ever since we changed our unhealthy eating habits, I’m able to enjoy activities I was never able to do when I was a little kid stricken with chronic pain back to back.
What inspired you to share your story?
Children living with Sickle Cell Anemia inspired me to tell my story because I can be their voice when they feel like they don’t have one, by me speaking up and being their voice it’ll give them the courage to tell more people about their illness!
What is the story behind your cooking? How did the idea get started?
In 2014 My family and I almost lost our oldest sister Shakarra due to a massive stroke, we met a doctor named Dr. Charlie Ware and he told us people living with Sickle Cell Anemia were losing their lives due to their unhealthy diets. Immediately as soon as we got home we looked up healthier ways and healthier treats for my sisters and me to be able to enjoy!! I started off making sugarless and flourless peanut butter cookies…that’s when my family knew I was on tosomething!
What can we look forward to seeing from you this year?
This year you can look forward to our TLC bag giveaway, our healthy heart walk, and our Christmas toy drive!
What advice do you have for people that are looking to expand their brands?
Make sure that you have tons of family support!! If someone tries to bring you down, believe in yourself because we believe in YOU!
Where can customers support your business?
You all can follow my social media pages @Nazhi Thee Baker and my website is www.Nazhitheebaker.com
Is there anything else you like to share with us?
