Growing up, I faced challenges and realized that I needed to take action to change my circumstances. With a lack of knowledge in the credit repair and financial industry, I took it upon myself to educate and empower not only myself but also those around me. This ultimately led me to establish a financial consulting business that specializes in credit restoration. As I honored my skills in the credit repair industry, I recognized the importance of expanding my reach in the realm of financial literacy. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to connect with Kyla Brown, CEO of Wealth Prodigy, a highly successful tax company based in Dallas, Texas. In my first year as a tax preparer with Wealth Prodigy, I achieved remarkable results, earning over $20,000 in just the first month. This experience solidified my passion for this industry, not only because of the financial benefits but also due to the immense satisfaction and knowledge gained from working alongside such a reputable company.
What led you to start a career as a tax professional, and can you share a pivotal moment or experience that influenced your choice?
I was driven by my desire for financial freedom and a fulfilling life, I recognized the importance of diversifying my income streams. I understood the potential of the income tax industry and knew that with over half of the US population filing taxes, I wanted to immerse myself in this thriving sector. What was the most influential on my decision to jump into the tax industry was when I filed my income taxes with a well-known company and was quoted $900 for a basic tax return. Immediately I thought to myself $900 for a basic return and this company gets hundreds, or maybe even thousands of clients daily? It was that realization that prompted me to delve deeper into the income tax industry.
As a tax professional, what continues to drive your passion for this field, and how do you stay motivated year after year?
My passion is driven by the strong relationships that I have cultivated with my clients, the network of like-minded individuals that I have encountered in the income tax industry, and the promising opportunities provided to me within the WEALTH PRODIGY. Every year I find myself engaging in different educational activities and attending different seminars, workshops, and networking events. The constant acquisition of knowledge keeps me motivated and fuels my enthusiasm as I approach each upcoming tax season.
Who are some of your inspirational role models within the tax industry, and how have they influenced your approach to tax planning and advising?
I’d have to say Kyla Brown & Kayla Hootsell. I’m not easily influenced by the people that I see on the internet BECAUSE I feel like we are living in a society where everyone is stuck on lifestyles rather than living in their truths. I’ve personally witnessed these women’s unwavering work ethics, which distinguishes them from the people who sell you dreams. It’s amazing knowing that these women both triumphed over difficult circumstances and managed to make significant strides in the industry. They’ve both shared expertise with me which contributed to my growth and development in this industry.
Can you discuss how the tax industry has evolved and changed over the past few decades, including any notable shifts or trends from 10 years ago and 20 years ago?
Technology is a BEAST! I vividly recall my mama and grandma filling out physical paperwork to submit a tax return and now a simple click of a button all of your information falls in the lap of an IRS employee. Another thing is the laws and regulations are changing every year. It’s one thing to be a tax preparer, but being a TAX PROFESSIONAL is an entirely different ball game. With credits and laws changing so much having a profound understanding is CRUCIAL.
If our readers were looking to work with you as a tax professional, what characteristics or traits should they possess? For example – Do you primarily serve self-employed individuals, low-income earners, high-wage earners, or a diverse client base?
I don’t restrict myself to a specific demographic when offering my tax filing services. My knowledge and expertise extend to assisting a wide range of individuals, including self-employed individuals, low-income earners, high-wage earners, students who have attended college, etc. I firmly believe in providing my professional services to anyone in need because I’m highly trained in the income tax industry.

I am currently focused on the growth and expansion of my credit repair business, as well as my personal development within the income tax industry. I take immense pride in my role at WEALTH PRODIGY and find great satisfaction in the potential for internal promotions within the company, i firmly believe that not every situation requires you to be the boss, and when presented with an established and well-functioning opportunity, it’s wise to join the movement, which is where I find myself in this organization. Moving forward, I have plans to host seminars and workshops aimed at educating the public (mainly the youth) on the significance of financial literacy. Additionally, I intend to invest in and enhance my knowledge of the real estate market while providing mentorship opportunities. Ultimately, my goal is to enjoy life while providing individuals with avenues for personal and professional growth.
