Oscar award-winning actor, Mahershala Ali has just booked a new role.

We’ll be seeing him as the legendary boxer, Jack Son in a six-par tlimited series, brought by HBO.

This project titled, Unruly is based on the Ken Burns’ PBS documentary Unforgiveable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson and Geoffrey C. Ward’s companion book.

This will not be Ali’s first time portraying Jack Johnson. The actor played Johnson in the play titled The Great White Hope.

Jack Johnson was the first black world heavyweight champion in the boxing world. He defeated Tommy Burns December of 1908.
