Black History Month is fully underway and what better way to support than to support the movement, Black Lives Matter?
Time and time again, beauty retailer MAC has proven that they support the movement and will continue to do so.
To start off Black History Month – the brand has announced that they have partnered with Women of Color on Broadway.
The organization is a nonprofit that provides music and theater opportunities to women of color including African, Latin, Asian, and those of Indigenous descent. The partnership comes with a MAC-sponsored music video for the song “Summertime” from the play, Porgy & Bess.
The play was recently revamped by the organization. Senior makeup artist, Fatima Thomas led the creative direction of the video’s makeup while makeup artist, Marina Rosario created the makeup looks seen in the music video.
Porgy & Bess first dbeuted in the ’30s and follows the goings-on of an all-Black neighborhood in Charleston, South Carolina.
You can see the performance of “Summertime” now for free on the official Play Bill website.
