5x Grammy Award-winning gospel music legend, Karen Clark Sheard has just released her new song “Look at Me” produced and co-written by the legendary music and fashion mogul Pharrell Williams. “Look at Me” is a fun up-tempo track with an urban groove that will immediately have listeners turning up the bass on their speakers to immerse themselves in this next level groove of praise. Williams is giving his signature, one-of-a-kind Neptunes flare combined with the collaboration of 4x Grammy Award-nominated producer J. Drew Sheard II and created a song sure to be a hit to music lovers around the world.
According to Sheard II, “Pharrell has been a long term mentor for me. Since he first signed me when I was 18, we’ve remained in consistent contact and I’m so honored that he was willing to be apart of one of the many projects we’re working on together.” As many know, Williams was recently named the Men’s Creative Director for Louis Vuitton and has been working out of the company’s headquarters in Paris. Sheard II flew to Paris to meet him in order to get the in-person feedback to make this track and the full album as spectacular as possible. “It’s always great working with Pharrell. His musical ear and insight inspires me and I’m grateful to be a student each time we connect.”
“Look at Me” was written by Williams, Clark Sheard and gospel superstar Kierra Sheard. It combines a heavy baseline, special sound effects, complex background harmonies, and all with a simple message of gratefulness saying, “Look at me and see what God has done.” Its a song of praise that celebrates that no matter what “I don’t look like what I’ve been through.” A portion of the song was also highlighted during Sheard’s Stellar Awards performance accompanied by her daughter Kierra Sheard that premiered on BET Saturday, August 3rd. “Look at Me” is now available to be streamed on all streaming platforms and the full Still Karen album will be available on Friday, August 23, 2024.
