Claudia Jordan, who plays a sexy, messy talk show host in Games Women Play, opened up about how social media often creates a false narrative of her character. Like Denzel says, I’m a theater actor that just happens to do television and film.” Well-versed in theatre, Carl honed his craft before landing the iconic role of Cole Payne on Martin. While directing Games Women Play is not his directorial debut, Carl emphasized, “This is the first time I’ve directed for Je’Caryous Johnson, and the experience has been incredible.” Carl plays Caleb, a successful businessman that tries to manage his money, manhood, and his future marriage.
As a Sheen Magazine correspondent, I had the chance to attend the opening night of Games Women Play, and let me just say—it did not disappoint. The energy in the theatre was electric, and the audience was fully engaged. Familiar faces in the crowd included musical powerhouse Shanice Wilson (who also happens to be Flex Alexander’s wife) and multi-talented actor and singer Tisha Campbell, Carl Payne’s former Martin co-star. The crowd laughed, cried, and engaged in vibrant talk backs to the cast in true urban fashion!
