Coffe’ Summers is a journalist and media enthusiast from Joliet, IL, dedicated to pursuing her passion for media and entertainment while helping others do the same. With a deep connection to the arts, she has explored various roles, from photographer to social media manager, before launching her own publication, Coffea. Focused on celebrating emerging entrepreneurs, Coffea provides a platform for new talent and offers insights into the creative industry.

What does a typical day look like for you as an Editor-in-Chief?

Coffe’: My days involve a lot of planning and coordination. Mornings are spent making phone calls and sending emails, while afternoons are dedicated to design and creation. I prioritize breaks, including short naps, to recharge and always carve out family time. With a small team, I often tackle major tasks alone, leaving me both tired and excited by the end of the day.

Who is your biggest inspiration as an entrepreneur?

Coffe’: I find inspiration in people who chase their dreams despite obstacles. Those who transform fear into fuel and refuse to give up truly motivate me.

How do you define success?

Coffe’: Success, for me, is about happiness and impact. I evaluate my achievements based on the influence I have on future generations and my family. If I’m not happy in my daily activities, I don’t feel successful.

What has been your most significant achievement?

Coffe’: Launching my own business has been my most significant achievement. It was my hardest endeavor, and I’m in awe of it every day.

What type of content can readers expect from your magazine? How do you choose topics and themes for each issue?

Coffe’: Readers can expect tips on entrepreneurship, life balance as a creative, and advice from various industry figures. Though some topics were previously random, Coffea now focuses on behind-the-scenes stories and intriguing individuals through series and traditional formats.

How does your magazine engage with its community, both online and offline?

Coffe’:  We encourage others to refer or suggest people they would love to see grace the cover. We also volunteer our marketing division to several non-profits in our home city. Every year, Coffea gives out an Entrepreneur Award to a business owner or creative. We allow the community to vote on the finalists as well. While we did not run the contest this year, we will begin again in 2025.
