Misa Hylton, popularly known as a “Lifestyle Architect’ wants to celebrate hip-hop and fashion together!
The well-known stylist and creative stars in Netflix’s documentary titled The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion.
This exciting project discusses the merge of fashion and hip-hop and will feature perspectives of many trailblazers in the industry such as Kerby-Jean Raymond, April Walker, and Dapper Dan.
Hylton entered the industry at just 17-years-old and man, did she make an impact. She styled Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, and many more! This documentary will allow viewers an inside look at how far she’s come along her journey.
When asked about how it felt for this project to be completed in an exclusive interview with ESSENCE, Hylton said “It feels amazing because all of our work is being recognized and we get to educate the next generation. People who have been in the culture, and may not have known how I or April contributed know now. So it’s an amazing feeling to be recognized.”
