Today, breakout underground rapper Trevor Spitta launches himself into the mainstream with his new album SUNSET MOSHPIT. The budding talent continues his rise to stardom, creating something completely unique to the New Jersey native.
The eclectic 16-song set combines hazy, soulful declarations with dizzying hooks that sees Trevor exercising his versatility. A dynamic mix of lo-fi and electronic soundscapes create a digitized rage that departs from the typical tropes of popular rap music. Instead, we see the return to the child-like excitement, passion, and raw energy of someone who has the propensity to rebel against the norm.
Featuring previously released singles “ME ‘N U,” the aspirational “COULDA BEEN PRESIDENT” and the sunnily romantic “GIRL IS MINE,” Trevor’s latest entry is a sonic voyage through a come-up that feels ongoing.
This all builds on the heels of his recent inclusion on Tommy Richman’s debut album, COYOTE. The emerging emcee stands tall alongside his contemporaries on the hard-hitting album track, “TENNESSEE,” featuring Tommy & Zachary Moon. SUNSET MOSHPIT, out now via Sunset Moshpit Productions, also arrives in the midst of Trevor’s intimate, three-day tour. Aptly titled the “SUNSET MOSHPIT TOUR,” it officially kicked off last night in Brooklyn, with subsequent stops in Chicago (October 17th) and Los Angeles (October 24th).
