Evelyn Nolan: It was truly a surprise and a joy to see Tanya’s passion for music emerge at such a young age. She didn’t even realize she had a talent for singing until she decided to explore opportunities to make some extra money.

When she saw an ad looking for a vocalist for a band, she took the initiative to call and audition. Witnessing her step out of her comfort zone and discover her gift for singing was an incredible moment as a parent. From that point on, I knew she had something special, and I’ve been supporting her musical journey ever since.

Sheen: Tanya, how has your mother supported you practically throughout your career, especially in those early days when you were just starting out?

Tanya: She always emphasized the importance of having a job to cover expenses while pursuing my passion for music. Her practical advice and guidance kept me grounded and focused on the realities of the industry. Moreover, during times of doubt, she encouraged me to believe in myself and to never give up, even if success didn’t come immediately. Her unwavering support and practical wisdom have been invaluable assets on my journey, and I’m grateful for her presence every step of the way.

Evelyn Nolan: Supporting Tanya in her music career has definitely had its challenges, as any parent knows. It can be a tough and sometimes unpredictable industry. But through it all, I’ve remained steadfast in my support for her. I’ve learned to trust in her talent and instincts, and to always be there for her, no matter what.

Tanya Nolan: One of the most memorable moments for me was when I released my debut single, “Good Woman.. Seeing the pride and joy in my mom’s eyes as she listened to the song for the first time was incredibly special. Her belief in me has always been unwavering, and that moment solidified for me just how much her support means to me.

Sheen: Evelyn, what advice do you have for other parents who have children pursuing careers in the arts or music?

Evelyn Nolan: My advice to other parents would be to always believe in your child’s talent and to support their dreams wholeheartedly.
