I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Acquiring my education while being a wife, mother and full time employee and at a time when the internet was not a “thing” was indeed a challenge. Just having the ability to get to class then find the time to study was a challenge but I was determined not to let anything keep me from reaching my goals. Once I obtained my degree and certifications the next challenge of being a black woman in the financial field has been a challenge. Math and Finances are words dominated by men. Making a name for myself in this industry required not just education but time put in and persistence. It took understanding knowing who I am and what I have to offer. It took finding that line and staying on the side of confident but not at all arrogant.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in, and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in Accounting, Income tax (business and consumer), Real Estate. What separated me is my ability to assist my clients in making a financial decision that will affect their life vs being transactional. I’m no sales person but I am a financial professional and that along with taking my fiduciary responsibility very seriously, my clients can be assured my guidance will be based on finances and generational wealth.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Pursue what motivates you. Find your passion that is where your gift is. Develop that gift and you will succeed.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success is time and freedom. I am fueled by building my brand and creating wealth for my family.
What’s next for you?
Expanding my brand and my business in Accounting, Income Taxes in all stated and Real Estate. I’m currently licensed as a realtor in both Texas and Michigan but I will adding other states and acquiring my broker’s license.
