Dr. Conrad F. Cean wants to educate the Black community and beyond about pain management. Dr. Cean established New York Pain Management Group has a resource to help people manage pain in a healthy way.

Dr. Cean is an esteemed interventional pain specialist based in New York City, renowned for his extensive expertise spanning over two decades. His journey towards becoming a prominent figure in pain management began with rigorous training and education.

Dr. Cean completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, followed by specialized fellowship training in interventional pain medicine. His academic foundation includes a Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from SUNY College at Old Westbury.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cean has held pivotal roles that have shaped his approach to pain management. He honed his skills as a pain management specialist at Long Island Jewish Health Systems and later served as the Director of Pain Management at Somia Pain Management. These experiences laid the groundwork for him to establish NYPMG, where he continues to innovate and enhance treatment options for his patients.

 “A common occurrence which I’ve noticed throughout my years of pain management practice is the exacerbation of pre-existing medical conditions by patient’s pain. I treated many black and brown patient’s with high blood pressure and diabetes whose pain had exacerbated these conditions. It is important for patients to understand that significant pain has an affect and takes a toll on their body. In addition to doing physical therapy and usage of narcotic pain medication to control their pain. They must also be mindful of their pre-existing ailments,” explains Dr. Cean.
