Atlanta, GA – On the 17th of August, 2023, a wave of creative energy swept through Atlanta’s bustling scene as Dolapo’s Screening Room unveiled its eagerly awaited third edition to a captivated, sold-out audience. Spearheaded by the esteemed Film Exec, Dolapo Erinkitola, this edition transcended the boundaries of traditional networking events, forging connections that spanned both the artistic heart and technical backbone of the industry.

Nestled within the vibrant heart of ATL, Dolapo’s Screening Room has firmly etched its place as a beacon of inclusivity and artistic camaraderie. This past Wednesday, more than 90 independent artists, filmmakers, and ardent supporters of the film community converged to partake in an evening that promised inspiration and artistic growth. The charming ambiance of the Blu Lagoon Bar & Bistro in Buckhead provided the ideal setting for the August edition, a testament to the event’s evolving ethos.

The event was graced by luminaries from the entertainment realm, including the multifaceted Actress, Writer, Director, Poet, and Executive Producer Ernestine Morrison, highly sought after Film and TV Producer Terrence Battle, and the visionary Entertainment Manager, Media Mogul, and Brand Strategist April Love. The dynamic Actress, Photographer, Producer, and Public Relations Manager Carcelia “Cece” Ivory‘s dynamic presence assumed the role as the evening’s charismatic hostess. Cashe’ Arielle from Getting Candid with Cashe’ Arielle as the effervescent red carpet host served looks and energy as she interviewed Atlanta’s elite that were in attendance. With special appearances from Actor and Author Stevie Baggs Jr, Producer Errol Saddler, Producer Jennifer Pessima, and Recording Artist LaTruth, Filmmaker Shaun Mathis, Producer Robert Peters, and Emmy Nominated Actress Shaquita Smith.

Melodies and rhythms transcended boundaries, with an array of music performances leaving an indelible mark on the evening. Songstress Senerica Davis serenaded the audience with her soulful rendition of ‘Deja Vu’, while the magnetic Singer Yanii Be sent vibrations through the lounge with her infectious single “90’s Baby”. The crowd erupted in applause as the dynamic rapper Essence Chosen took the stage, captivating all with his viral hit and electrifying dance moves in the iconic “Peewee Herman” style. The event reached its crescendo as the acclaimed national spoken word poet, Ernestine Morrison, graced the stage, delivering a poignant and motivational poem that brought the audience to their feet.

As the event drew to a close, Dolapo Erinkitola left an indelible imprint on the attendees with a resonant quote: “Everything you need, from a director to a production assistant, is in this room.
