Jackson State Quarterback and son of legendary football player Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders, recently signed a historic NIL deal with Gatorade.
Sanders is the first HBCU student-athlete to join a roster, including Serena Williams, J.J. Watt, Zion Williamson, Candace Parker, and more. Speaking on the historic deal, “I’m honored to be a part of the Gatorade family. First and foremost, I’m blessed. It’s a great opportunity. As a kid, I was drinking Gatorade regularly. So now that we have the opportunity to partner with them and be a part of Gatorade, I’m very blessed.”
Following UConn women’s basketball standout Paige Bueckers, the 19-year-old quarterback, is the company’s second NCAA athlete to sign a deal.
During the multi-year relationship with Gatorade, Sanders will help to boost national awareness for HBCU programs and athletes.
