Tell us about your e-book, How to Become A Social Media Influencer.
The title of it is obviously, How to Become A Social Media Influencer, but honestly, I feel like when I made that book, I wanted it to be helpful for anyone in the arts. It could be for a singer, dancer, a comedian, anyone that wants to build a relationship with their followers or grow their social media presence. It’s really not limited to social media influencers, its useful for numerous amounts of people. I’ve been a content creator for a couple years and I was asked a lot of questions from my followers about how I got into it, how they could get into it, what advice I could offer, and more. I thought that I would put it into a book and share that with them.
Why would you say that women empowerment is something so important to you?
I’m really passionate about women’s empowerment because I feel like compared to men, we are not as united as we should be. I feel like men support each other a lot more often. I feel like women, sometimes find us competing against one another. It bothers me a lot because it’s already hard to be a woman, first off. To be a woman alone is hard. Why not make it easier for each other by coming together, uplift one another, and push each other? We should be giving each other encouraging words. That is super important to me and I feel like a lot of women may grow up insecure or not confident about themselves. I try to use my platform to help women feel beautiful. I want to be that person that encourages them to be independent or make them feel better about themselves. Aside from beauty and fashion, I really like to uplift other women.
How has it been as a content creator during this time of COVID-19?
Honestly, I would say it has its ups and downs. We are in a time of chaos. There is a lot going on and emotional distress, people are dying, people are losing their loved ones. I unfortunately, am one of those people that have lost loved ones due to COVID. I feel like it gets a little overwhelming because in the midst of this chaos, you still have to deliver content and your creativity still has to be on point. You have to still come up with ideas. I feel like the pandemic has taken a toll on a lot of people’s personal lives. The good thing that I will say about being a content creator during COVID-19 is that I feel like because we were so caught off guard and we didn’t see this coming, it kind of made us look at life a different way. For me, it made me want to go harder in terms of my work, content, and it makes me want to think outside the box. It pushed me to release my e-book. It was always a thought, but I was never bold enough to launch it. My level of drive just increased.
What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see from you in 2021?
I want to launch more e-books. I want to go more in-depth with resources and share tips for networking. I feel like networking has been a huge part of my content creation journey. It has opened so many opportunities for me. It doesn’t matter how many followers, if you can network, there are many doors that will open for you. It’s all about how well you connect and network with people. I also want to start doing e-books on women independence, self-love, and help both young and older women feel better about themselves.
