Actor/singer, TC Caron recently released his single, “Come Together” in hopes of bringing our nation together as one after the many social injustices happening around the world and surpassing a pandemic. In addition to that, he starred in TV One’s newest movie, Coins For Love. We wanted to catch up with him to discuss all things music, life as an artist during the pandemic, and much more.

Tell us about your role In TV One’s Coins For Love.

It’s a reprisal of ‘Coins For Christmas’. Hank is his business manager. Hank is basically the guy that believes in a young man and wants him to be financially stable. He knows that when he’s working, everyone gets paid including me. My goal is to keep him happy and keep him working.

Call you tell us about the inspiration behind your single, “Come Together”?

“Come Together” was off of my first album titled Truth. It was about the feeling that people were not listening to each other. I knew that if we could come together, we could make all of this work. That was a few years ago. Once we got into COVID and Black Lives Matter, we’ve seen how people were not listening to each other and hearing one another. I thought about the single and I thought maybe it was a good time to release it. We tried to show all kinds of people because in order to make this thing work, we all have to come together. Right now, this country is running on division.

Why do you believe it was so important for you to release this song right now during the global pandemic and social injustices happening around the world?

I don’t know if I would be out on the front lines marching right now. I’m at the age where I’m at risk for COVID. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to find out how I could use my voice and still be able to say something to move people. That’s why we release “Come Together.” Art moves people and not everyone is out on the frontline. My job was to try to do something else and try to move the needle a different way. I wanted people to come together, I hope that this single did that.

How has quarantine life been for you?

Horrible! (Laughs) I’m tired of being in this house, I really am. I’m using this time to work and hopefully create some more art and music. I’ve been working with great friends virtually for music. Hopefully this fall, we come out with something. I’m working hard and staying busy while understanding that this is a time to rest. A lot of people feel like they should be doing something but maybe it’s time for you to sit down and just rest. I’m doing that as well to focus on my mental and physical health.

What are you currently working on? What can we expect to see from you in the future?

I’m not sure what the future of our craft looks like. They still haven’t necessarily figured out how to come together and do the music, theater, and filming. I’m not sure what it’s going to look like but I hope and pray that it is something that will help my community, make people smile, and hopefully experience some more love.
