Mayor James T. Butts and the City of Inglewood celebrated Dr. Marlo Nicole Richardson in a heartfelt ceremony. As a proud native of Inglewood, Dr. Richardson has leveraged her local roots to become a prominent businesswoman and entrepreneur. The city’s proclamation recognized her remarkable achievements and steadfast commitment to community service and youth empowerment.

Dr. Richardson’s upbringing in Inglewood instilled in her the importance of preparing the younger generation for a bright and successful future. As a Black businesswoman and serial entrepreneur, she has reached impressive milestones, including the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and earning two doctoral degrees, one in Business and Entrepreneurship.

Throughout her journey, Dr. Richardson has consistently pursued excellence. She is committed to nurturing young people into wealth creators and entrepreneurs, fostering a society where each generation thrives. Her career began in law enforcement, where she achieved the rank of police lieutenant. Simultaneously, she entered the real estate market at 21 and became the first Black woman to chair the CA State Licensing Board, an appointment by California Governor Jerry Brown.

Her entrepreneurial ventures include successful lounges and entertainment spots like Berris and Stage 21. Her recent ventures include “California Vintage Wine Bistro,” “Braymar Wines,” and a collaboration with Big League Hospitality Group at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. In the business world, Dr. Richardson has championed diversity and innovation with brands like Greenwood & Company and Just Mary Brand & Delivery. Additionally, her work with Marlo Nicole Productions has made a significant impact, providing high-quality services for podcasts, small scene productions, and executive producing television and film projects.

Dr. Richardson’s commitment to education and youth empowerment is evident through her initiatives, Business Bullish, and her nonprofit, Generational Wealth Builders Worldwide. These programs aim to inspire, train, and provide practical experiences for future entrepreneurs.
