This March, in celebration of Women’s Month, I am delighted to introduce a visionary entrepreneur who maintains professional excellence, personal spiritual commitment, and has an inspiring, impactful, and brighter future ahead. Sheen Magazine readers meet Sai Williams!

Sai Williams, you are the owner of an awesome breakfast and brunch restaurant in Columbia called The Toasty Hot Spot. That must feel amazing!

Sai: Yes, I own The Toasty Hot Spot, which will celebrate four years in business this May.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for the past 12 years, and each business I’ve started has taught me valuable lessons that have contributed to my success today.

I take pride in what I’ve built and constantly push myself to set the bar higher. Growth has always been my goal, and this year, I’m even more focused on breaking down my vision and executing it step by step.

Twelve years is pretty impressive, what made you want to start a restaurant business?

Sai: Starting a restaurant was never in my plans, but it was in God’s. My journey began as a baker, spending time in the kitchen with my Mema, Ann Griffith, from an early age. When I came across the location at 1305 Lady Street, I saw the potential to create something special. I never imagined the impact my customers, supporters, and followers would have on me, but they are the reason I keep going.

Last year, I faced one of my biggest challenges when I was forced to move out of my original location and had less than three months to start over. It was a tough situation, but once again, God showed up. He was making room for something bigger. Now, I’ve expanded from 600 square feet to 1,500 square feet, and I know this is just the beginning.

It’s encouraging that you have such positive energy. Do you have any ongoing doubts? What keeps you going?

Sai:Not at all. I keep myself uplifted and surround myself with positive energy. Doubt won’t lead me to success, so I don’t allow it to take up space in my mind.

What are your hobbies outside of cooking?

Sai: When I’m not in grind mode, I love getting dolled up, reading, attending Bible study, and sightseeing in areas where I can envision my next business. I also enjoy taking quick trips or vacations where I can fully relax and enjoy my peace.

What’s next for The Toasty Hot Spot?

Sai:The restaurant is just one of the many ventures I plan to elevate. While The Toasty Hot Spot has made its mark in the Carolinas, I’m considering taking it up a notch—maybe even expanding to Houston, Texas.

No matter what, I’m focused on scaling up and making every move count.

Congratulations Sai Williams!
