How has your story motivated you on days when there seems to be nothing to keep you going?
I remember last year wanting to commit suicide. My good journey kept me going. All the good days, months and memories motivated me to get up every day and figure out my life. My good days outweigh my bad days. I recall last week looking throughout my house and just thanking God for keeping me these last 14 years as an entrepreneur.
In what ways, if any, did you have to pivot to ensure your vision was well executed?
I had to pivot to a new business model and an additional stream of income to ensure my business was operating properly. I saw my numbers declining and I noticed the coaching space got weird. I immediately had to put a new plan in place. I joined Olbali the newest direct selling company and went straight to the top. Some entrepreneurs have a problem sitting at someone else table. I don’t at all. That pivot kept me in the game and added revenue to ensure my vision was executed.
How do you showcase the empowerment of Women’s History Month every day?
I showcase the empowerment of Women’s History Month every day by giving back to women in my community through acts of kindness, support, and encouragement.I love giving flowers, compliments, opportunities, and sponsoring events for other women. I also love doing things as simple as sending an “I’m just checking on you” text. Women supporting women is an everyday lifestyle. I showcase the empowerment of Women’s History Month every day by giving back to women in my community through acts of kindness, support, and encouragement.
Who are some lesser-known female entrepreneurs from history that you admire and believe deserve more recognition?
It’s so many women I admire. Mia Ray, April Divah Styles, Elaine Sterling, Cynthia Cain, Nicole Walters.
Reflecting on your own experiences, what are some effective ways that male allies have supported you in your career journey?
Male allies have supported me in my career journey by speaking at my events, providing free resources, and sponsoring opportunities for women in my community. My male allies such as Runway Billionaire and Dontell Antonio pour into women for absolutely free. They see my vision and support the mission. Dontell even sponsored free content shoots for some of my community members.
How do you strike a balance between ambition and self-care as a woman in a demanding business environment?
This is such a good question. To be honest I’m just now unlearning survival mode. My therapist calls me a high performer. Now I have to prioritize my ambition, and big ideas with my mental capacity. I just got invited to speak on a big platform but I know trying to figure out how to be in 3 places at a time would mentally drain me. I set boundaries and stick to them.
