In honor of Black Music Month and Juneteenth, Meta Quest is providing a virtual, intimate concert experience like no other. “Soul Sessions,” a new and thrilling 3D 180˚ VR concert series, will showcase musical performances from reigning Black R&B and Soul artists like Lucky Daye, Umi, and Serpent with Feet. The surreal experience was made exclusively for the Quest 2 headset on Oculus TV and Venues in Horizon Worlds.
As Meta Quest values Black music in America and wanted to celebrate their contributions, listeners will also get to hear interviews with the artists, highlighting what Black American culture and sound means to them. On June 16 at 10 a.m. PT, the three-episode concert, one episode for each artist, will be available to indulge in until June 26 at 11:59 p.m. There’s even an option to watch these magical performances in a social viewing environment. Individuals 18+ in the United States and Canada with a Meta Quest 2 can catch them playing in an Always-On room. This is truly an experience you don’t want to miss!
“It’s like me putting out the energy and waiting for it to come back. And when it hits me, it’s like freedom.”—Grammy Award Winner Lucky Daye.
My mom played classical music; she played the piano, and Japanese pop music, as well as R&B. So, all of that is in my subconscious, and it just comes out in my music.” — R&B and Soul Artist, Umi.
“I think many people admire the black voice but fear its power.”—R&B and Soul Artist, Serpent with Feet.
