On July 3, the City of New Orleans is honoring Cash Money Records Co-Founders Bryan “Baby” Williams a.k.a. “Birdman” and Ronald “Slim” Williams by naming a street after them. The street where the Williams Brothers once lived, the intersection of Saratoga St. and Erato St., will now be christened “Honorary Williams Brothers Way. After achieving worldwide fame and contributing to their community for decades, this street naming honors the Williams brothers’ enduring impact on New Orleans. The official ceremony is slated to take place onsite at the intersection between 1:30- 2:30PM.

National Urban League President & CEO Marc H. Morial commented, “As former mayor of New Orleans, I’m extremely proud of the street being named in honor of ‘Baby’ and ‘Slim’, CEOs of Cash Money Records. Their contributions to the music industry and their impact on our community have been immense, shaping the cultural landscape and providing opportunities for countless artist that hail from the Crescent City!”

The street naming ceremony for the Williams brothers will precede Birdman‘s performance at the ESSENCE Festival. On Friday, Birdman will headline at Caesars Superdome. The show, ‘Birdman and Friends,’ will feature Cash Money Records hits and guest appearances.”

Additionally, Marc Morial President & CEO, National Urban League will grace the stage during the set to present a proclamation in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the culture and the world of hip-hop.

The new developments come as Cash Money continues to add to a roster that includes R&B star Jacquees and rising talent such as TBOSSOnisght DeedaRublowSaxboy KD and more.
