The thriller was released just last week and has since done numbers! The Washington Post has reported that the first Black female filmmaker to have a movie debut at number one.
DaCosta co-wrote the highly anticipated thriller with Win Rosenfeld and Jordan Peele through Monkeypaw Productions.
In addition to this exciting news, we know that DaCosta will direct the superhero movie, The Marvels – which is slated to premiere on November 11th, 2022.
She will be making history again as the first Black woman and the youngest director to ever direct a Marvel film.
