Serial entrepreneur, visionary restauranter, and philanthropist Ebony Austin, has amassed an impressive multi-million-dollar portfolio that includes Nouveau Bar & Grill, Nouveau Noir, and Stir House Atlanta. Widely recognized for her culinary mastery and dedication to uplifting Black communities and listed as one of the fastest growing private companies in America via Inc. Magazine’s 2024 #Inc5000 list, Ebony Austin is proud to announce the expansion of her stone ground grits line, Nouveau Creations manufactured by Socu Kitchen, is now available in over 180 Publix Supermarkets throughout Georgia. This exciting growth marks a significant milestone for the brand, which originated in Atlanta and quickly became a staple in the region’s culinary scene.

Nouveau Creations’ Grits: A Product with Purpose

Launched in 2022, the grits line has captivated consumers not only for its rich, savory flavors—Original, Garlic and Herb, and Jalapeño Cheddar—but also for its deeper mission. Ebony Austin’s “Grits that Give Back” initiative donates 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these grits to fund scholarships for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This initiative stems from Ebony’s personal journey as a former struggling college student who is now committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder the educational aspirations of future generations.

“The expansion of our grits line into Publix stores across Georgia is more than just a business achievement—it’s a continuation of our mission to support Black excellence in education,” says Ebony Austin. “Every time someone purchases a bag of our grits, they are not just enjoying a delicious meal; they are also contributing to the education of a young scholar, helping to make higher education accessible to more students of color.”

A Legacy of Giving Back

Ebony Austin’s philanthropic efforts are well-documented and far-reaching. Beyond her culinary endeavors, she has raised over $1,000,000 in scholarships, helping countless students attend college. Her commitment to “never tell a child no” has become the cornerstone of her efforts, which include substantial donations to families in need, the creation of job opportunities for underserved communities, and ongoing support for HBCU students.

In addition to her scholarship initiatives, Ebony has recently made national headlines for gifting fully furnished homes to families, paying off their first year’s rent, and providing essential resources to ensure their long-term success. Her dedication to community upliftment has earned her accolades from celebrities like Dr. Shaquille O’Neal, Tamar Braxton, and Ne-yo, as well as features in major outlets such as Good Morning America, as featured via FORBES, and ESSENCE.

Expanding Horizons: Nouveau Noir and Beyond

As Ebony prepares to open Nouveau Noir, an upscale brunch spot in Dallas, Texas, she continues to set new standards in the culinary and business worlds. Her growing portfolio, which includes Nouveau Bar & Grill and Stir House, alongside the success of Nouveau Creations, is a testament to her relentless drive and innovative spirit.

With the grits line now in Publix stores, Ebony is also expanding the availability of her products in over 180 locations, ensuring that more people can enjoy her creations while contributing to a greater cause. This expansion not only strengthens her brand but also amplifies her impact on the Black community, making higher education more attainable for students across the country.

“Grits that give back — that make an impact in the community, we have never seen anything like this take place before,” says Erica Barrett, CEO of Socu Kitchen, the manufacturer behind Nouveau Creations. “Through Nouveau Creations’ acquisition with Publix, Ebony is only going to continue to give back more and more to HBCUs, which are typically underfunded. The impact and the footprint for generations to come is actually taking place–180 Publix stores in Georgia is just the beginning.”
