What a beautiful Sunday in Los Angeles.

On May 19th, Project Pit hosted their second annual I Love Myself Festival, a mental health awareness festival dedicated to  healing, community, freedom of expression, support, and resource sharing. The best part? It was completely free.

Project Pit is an innovative partnership platform whose main focus is to unite artists, brands, and organizations, delivering events that combine entertainment with social impact. This year’s highly-anticipated celebration took place outdoors at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza mall, bringing together individuals of all ages to come enjoy live music and vendors — all while raising mental health awareness.

Honorees included Angela White aka Blac Chyna, comedian Pretty Vee, recording artist Eric Bellinger, and many more.

Angela White definitely stole the show, bringing her two kids Dream and King Cairo with her.

Thank y’all so much, I feel the love. I’m up here with King and Dream. I just want to say thank you I Love Myself. Today feels surreal to me. Two years ago, I got baptized on my birthday. My birthday is May 11th.I must say My God has really changed my life around. He’s literally changed my life, things are totally different. Not even in my personal life, my work life, my love life, my relationship with my mother, with my kids, my children.”

She also reminded the audience that she’s coming up on her two year sobriety on September 15th.

She adds, “God’s just been making a way for me. Your mind is a very, very, very strong, strong sharp, and we can’t let it go to waste. If y’all are going through something, it’s nothing wrong with saying ‘hey, I need help!’”

She went on to express how she leans on her family and loved ones in times with need, even promoting therapy as a healing tool.

Additionally, multi-Platinum R&B singer-songwriter Mario headlined the I Love Myself Festival, along with an appearance by Omarion.

This was truly a beautiful way to give back to the community, while raising mental health awareness simultaneously. Follow Project Pit on Instagram for more!

I Love Myself Festival was presented by Project Pit and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health as a part of the Take Action LA initiative.
