Babies definitely bring so much joy and happiness to the world. Their adorable faces and sweet smiles will brighten up anyone’s day. They are just precious and are definitely on board for many of your favorite celebrity couples. Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Ashanti finally revealed she is indeed pregnant months after rumors first begin to speculate in the media that she was expecting a baby. She took to social media to share the exciting the news.

The songstress posted a reel on her Instagram page with caption, “My sweet baby 🙏🏽 Well…. (Our) Sweet baby 🤣 🤣😘
@nelly”. She received so many congratulations, well wishes and kind words from memberof the music and entertainment industry. They are super excited for her. Rap legend Fat Joe posted this comment under her video. “🙏🏽❤️”. TV Host/actress Julissa Bermudez posted this comment. “💙💙💙😍😍😍”. Grammy Award nominated singer Tamar Braxton left a comment. “Love you so much”.

The congratulatory messages and kind words did not end there. TV Personality/Actress Lala Anthony shared this comment, “😍😍😍😍😍”. Reality tv star Snooki left this comment. “😍😍 gonna be a good lookin kid!!!”. Yung Miami whose is one half of the rap duo the City Girls posted a comment. “😍😍😍😍😍😍”. Not only is the 43 year old award winning beauty expecting her first child, she is engaged to her longtime love, 49 year old award winning rap legend Nelly. During an exclusive with “Essence Magazine”, she shared the following: “This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation, she stated. “Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”

The happy couple got back together in 2023, with the rapper confirming the news after the two were seen attending numerous events together and being very flirtatious during performances  and following Ashanti carrying a clutch bag with her and Nelly’s face on it last year’s Grammy Awards.
“Yeah, we cool again,” Nelly stated during an interview last fall with Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta stars Kirk and Rasheeda Frost. “I think it surprised both of us, though”. He continued on, “It wasn’t anything that …[was] planned. I think we’re both pretty much doing what we do.”

The two rekindle a romance that began 21 years ago during the early stages of their music careers. Nelly stated that, “things are much lighter now that they’re older and doing love differently”. Prior to them reuniting, the two began communicating again after the Verzuz epic battle between legends Fat Joe and Ja Rule. During that star-studded event, Nelly went to give Ashanti a hug. After the fact she stated during an Instagram live with Fat Joe and Ja Rule was a surprise.

“I had no idea he was going to be there. I haven’t seen him or spoken to him since we broke up. I don’t know if it’s six years or something, so I didn’t know what to expect”. She continued, “That’s the crazy thing, wasn’t nothing said. I seen him walking, his eyes got big, I didn’t know what to expect. It was positive.”


Having an open heart and being positive is always great. Congratulations Ashanti and Nelly on your engagement as well as expecting your first child together. Ashanti you look absolutely beautiful, you are glowing and pregnancy looks great on you. Wishing you two the very best on this next chapter in your lives.
